Efficient, Low-Emission Engine for Quick Cuts
A chain saw can only perform as well as the engine behind it. This Tanaka tool’s 40 cc, 2.4-horsepower commercial-grade engine features PureFire low-emission two-stroke technology. Fewer fumes mean safer operation and less environmental impact. This design makes the saw CARB Tier III compliant for use in California.

In addition, this Tanaka chain saw’s engine is built with the S-Start system and a purge primer bulb. This starting system reduces the amount of force necessary for pull starting, which reduces the amount of stress placed on your body.

Bar and Chain Set for Increased Efficiency and Reduced Kickback
The dependable Tanaka powerhead comes paired with an 18-inch Oregon bar and chain set with a versatile 3/8-inch pitch. Oregon’s products are designed to provide effective cutting performance while reducing kickback for safe operation and controlled cuts.

An inertia-activated chain break stops chain rotation immediately. A side-access chain tensioner allows for quick and easy chain adjustment, and two secure bar-mounting studs improve the saw’s cutting efficiency.

Compact, Anti-Vibration Design for User Comfort
This saw’s five-point anti-vibration system aims to increase user comfort, even in extended-use applications. The saw also features a convenient D-style rear handle for additional comfort.

The powerhead weighs 9.7 pounds, which allows the fully assembled saw to remain manageable when used with most bar sizes.

Generally positive – operated for approx 12 hrs over one month First – a gripe. Why do non-native English speakers feel competent to write technical manuals in English. I wouldn’t dream of writing in Chinese and rightly so. Frankly, the manual is confusing and misleading. If you follow the initial steps regarding the installation of the bar/chain you will miss a critical requirement, first releasing the brake band.I had bought this particular brand because Tanaka has a fairly good reputation in the lawn care industry for building reliable…
