Blue Rhino SV3100 SkeeterVac Mosquito Eliminator, 1-Acre Coverage

Don’t let pesky mosquitoes and other insects ruin your backyard parties, picnics, and barbecues. The Blue Rhino SkeeterVac Mosquito Eliminator’s FineTune baiting system transforms clean-burning propane into CO2 to attract mosquitoes into its trap. Turn the FineTune dial to set the attractant to match the insect species indigenous to your neighborhood. Once the bugs are attracted, the Vac&Tac trapping system utilizes a powerful vacuum and sticky paper traps to securely capture them. Just place the SkeeterVac Mosquito Eliminator in a shady spot, secure it in place using the included security spikes, and use the electronic ignition to ensure fast, easy, safe starts. Propane tank sold separately. Use the rain cover to protect the SkeeterVac from the elements and from children. Assembly and maintenance take only minutes, and no tools are necessary.

Within 4 to 6 weeks of operating the SkeeterVac around the clock, you will notice a great insect reduction within 1 acre of your yard. The Motion Lighting feature attracts a broader range of insects to increase your capture rate. The SkeeterVac measures 25 x 12 x 19 inches and weighs 19 pounds. It’s quiet, odorless, child-safe, and presents no pesky cords to trip over or get in the way of the lawn mower. A 1-year limited warranty is included.

Wow. Good wow, I mean… Holy cow, it really works.I live in Central Texas, where we have the ‘old’ kind of mosquito and the ‘new’, the Asian Tiger. My home is within a half-mile of a large creek, and we get the bloodsuckers PRETTY THICK for being in a city. Ugh.I lurked on the review boards for at least a YEAR before biting the bullet because these things are too expensive to not work. I eventually decided on the SkeeterVac over the Mosquito Magnet sadly, because the MM is made in America and I…

When I did change the tank I just could not get it to light again. Propane tends to attract spiders, and I figured there were webs blocking the gas jets. I decided to open it up and see if I could get to the jets to clean them out. I am used to disassembling and working on machinery, including gas systems, so that didn’t seem like it would…

The last one was a much older model, lasted at least 5 years, and the basket was under the fan, so bugs (especially no-see-ums and black biting flies) would get smashed by the fan, then pushed in to the basket. Eventually it would clog the fan, but I got good at taking the unit apart and cleaning it. This unit is a newer design has the basket ahead of the fan, so it should never suffer the same fate. The bugs get trapped before the fan…
