    great tool This is a great saw for being battery operated. I had a chance to use it after a storm yesterday and it cut through a large 10 inch branch quite well. Took over an hour to cut up the branch. The wood in the picture was cut on one battery charge (with both batteries being less than an year old and freshly charged).If it wasn’t made in Japan I would not have bought it as I am unimpressed with some of the recent chinese Makita tools. The Chinese ones look ok when they are new but…

You are looking for something different. I bought this tool right before a camping trip with the guys, here are my thoughts:It has plenty of power. Obviously if you are going to be sinking the entire bar into hardwood its not going to be as fast as gas, but for ‘normal use’, its awesome.
