BLACK+DECKER LST540 Brushless String Trimmer, 40-volt

The BLACK+DECKER LST540 40v Brushless String Trimmer features Brushless Motor Technology which provides more power and 30% longer runtime. It has a high performance 40V MAX lithium ion battery with state of charge indicator to show battery charge level. The POWERDRIVE Transmission delivers more power from the motor to the cutting string so you can get the job done faster. It also offers an Automatic Feed Spool – AFS(R) which automatically feeds trimmer line with no bumping required. A variable speed trigger allows for control over power and runtime and this trimmer has a wide 13 inch cutting swath which cuts a large area per pass. This trimmer easily converts from a trimmer to an edger with the push of a button. A telescoping aluminum pole with quick release allows you to adjust quickly for optimal cutting position. Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 40V – Nominal voltage is 36.     Battery Times Need Work First I would like to say that I really wanted this trimmer to work for me. The only major concern that I had before the purchase was the battery life per charge. I looked at the Black and Decker website but they really didn’t talk about run time. I can understand that, seeing how the run time can be effected by many things. My yard is less than one acre and I would guess that it’s about average when it comes to cutting weeds. Using a gas trimmer it probably takes about 15 minutes or less…

    Did I get a bad battery? mine only lasted 10-12 minutes each time I popped it in after a full recharge! 4/22/15 UPDATE!*On April 20th I contacted Black and Decker via their email that a person who commented gave me (see comments below for it) as I could not find any tel number. To see if the 10 minute run time I repeatedly got was possibly due to a bad battery.     Absolutely Perfect for Light Weights Like Me I’m a grandmother and I can’t use the gas powered trimmers. I can’t start them and they vibrate too much for me to hold. So I bought this trimmer just for me.It came partially charged and was fully charged in a half hour.
