The LHT2436 dual-action hedge trimmer.

Offering Black & Decker’s exclusive PowerDrive Transmission, the 24-inch cordless LHT2436 dual-action hedge trimmer delivers more power from the motor to the blades so you can get the job done faster. It’s powered by Black & Decker’s high-powered 40-volt lithium battery system, which offers power, excellent runtime, and the versatility to share batteries with other tools within the system.

The Lithium Advantage

Black & Decker’s 40-volt lithium-ion system offers numerous benefits over older battery technologies and gas options, notably the ability to put more power into a small and compact battery. Lithium batteries have a longer lifecycle than other types, and they also hold their charge longer when taken off the charger. This means that once charged, a lithium battery is always ready to use. The included Energy Star-rated fast charger fully recharges the battery in about 1 hour.

Cutting Power and Convenience

With Black & Decker’s exclusive Power Drive transmission, you’ll be able to cut up to twice the amount of branches without stalling, and the 24-inch dual-action blades produce less vibration while trimming compared to single-action blade models. It’s enough to cut through branches up to 3/4-inch thick. The LHT2436 features a full wrap-around front handle provides a comfortable gripping area in all cutting orientations (and is large enough to accommodate gloves), soft rubber grip, and a built-in cord retention system to avoid accidental unplugging.

Black and Decker Burn out I wasnt going to say anything about my experience with this hedge trimmer, but then I saw another reviewer with similar experience. I too stunk up the yard within a week of getting my trimmer. It seemed to be working great initially and trimmed small forsythia bushes great. However within a short period it started to clatter. I never cut anything larger than about 1/8″ and only recharged the battery once. After 10 minutes use after the second battery charge dense white smoke poured out of the…

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Free at last! The LHT2436 cordless is a time machine that turns an hour into 30 minutes and it’s fun to use on top of it.I bought (and used) the Black and Decker 20 volt pole trimmer on my 8 – 10 foot ornamental trees. I was so impressed that I found a very good price on the 36 volt hedge trimmer and bought it under the influence of extreme excitement. I charged the Li-Ion battery the evening of the first day and could hardly wait until the dew was off the hedges to use it the next…

Started smoking and died after a few weeks of use. I bought these to trim some juniper and boxwoods in my yard. In the past I’ve used corded electric trimmers and I seem to excel at cutting the extension cord. My first few experiences with these were very good. They performed well and were easy to manage. However, this morning, as I began to trim a bush, they began somking as if the engine were on fire. They are now dead. I bought them just four months ago and used them a few times for short intervals. I cannot recommend anyone else…
